Compacting Cardboard

Make sure compactor is filled (after compacting) to the Fill Line as marked inside the door

Close the door, and while holding & pulling on the straps, compact the cardboard. Make sure to put the switch in the “Lock” position.

How to tie an overhand knot to create a loop

While it’s compacting, unclip the lower straps and tie them in loops (see photo for instruction).

Once you lock it into place, open up lower door.

Put upper straps through the loops, pull tight by lifting up.

Pinch the two straps and tie it off.

Cut off excess and release compactor.

After compacting the cardboard, pull the straps from the back of the compactor. Using the cutter, cut the straps to overlap with the lower straps.

Please note the duties that minors are not permitted to perform, as a reminder that you cannot assign them to do them:

  1. Minors cannot touch or use the cardboard compactor.

  2. Minors cannot touch or use the trash compactor.

  3. Minors cannot touch, use, or wash the Hobart mixer or any parts or accessories.

  4. Minors cannot use the top shelf of step ladders, nor climb on any ladders.

  5. Minors cannot perform any work in the walk-in freezer, may only enter to quickly retrieve inventory.
